Social Entrepreneurs addressing community problems linked to the UN goals for sustainable development.
Inspirational social entrepreneurs Bronwyn Sheehan OAM Founder and CEO The Pyjama Foundation, Penny Daly CEO The Welcome Group and our very own student Jami Emerson founder of Chronic Hope joined our classroom workshop – ENTR202 Social Entrepreneurship. All these foundations have a purpose and a mission to work with the vulnerable, marginalised and disadvantaged. The Pyjama Foundation provides mentoring to develop literacy and life skills to children in home care across Queensland, Victoria and NSW, over 10,000 children have benefitted with 1,400 children mentored each week, so the impact is powerful. Through passion and determination Penny established The Welcome Group to assist refugees to fill service gaps and to ensure that the most in need are being supported. Over 5555 homes for new refugee families have been funded across Melbourne, once again a big impact based on a volunteer model. ACU business students will work in teams to address a global problem that is linked to the UN goals for sustainable development as part of the Global Social Innovation Challenge.

I am passionate about business for social impact and supporting industry collaboration to provide students with authentic opportunities to grow and flourish
