Nano Projects
The background to these projects arose from the paramount importance of giving work integrated learning (WIL) opportunities to our students to prepare them for the world of work. This is manifested in the Federal Government Job-ready Graduate Package – specifically the National Priorities and Industry Linkage Fund (NPILF) and performance based funding grant. The importance of this is also highlighted by TEQSA guidelines. According to TEQSA “The intent of the Standards is to ensure that WIL is an effective and positive learning experience which is a seamless and integral part of a course of study. Ideally, WIL will be of benefit to all parties involved and assist students in their development of work-readiness and employability”. TEQSA’s expectation is that we obtain feedback from the student WIL experience and use the information for continuous improvement process (see TEQSA. (2019, 8 October). Guidance Note: Third-Party Arrangements (Version 2.2).
Nano projects are short term internships for students with the objective to provide WIL opportunities to students. From 2020-2023, 4 Major Projects were implemented: Practera, Boroondora, Global Virtual class rooms, and Riipen.
