Preparing the next generation of marketers

ACU’s foundational marketing program has undergone a transformation in the bachelor program. Over the past three semesters, Marketing Toolkit has transitioned to an industry-first program, where students are working on contemporary marketing opportunities or issues for a client.

Junction Estate Agents founder Jeremy Paikaew has been working with the marketing discipline within the Peter Faber Business School to give students insight into the strategic and operational functions of marketing. Students in ACU’s foundational marketing program ‘Marketing Toolkit’ were given an opportunity to conduct a market intelligence project for Junction Estate Agents, consisting of a gap analysis and research plan to address market issues.

Across the last few semesters, Junction Estate Agents have been assisting ACU marketing students with industry challenges that are of mutual benefit, where students get to work on real market issues and Junction Estate Agents get a new perspective on their marketing outputs.

NLIC (National Lecturer in Charge) Alexander Campbell said “It is great to have students working with industry. Since starting at ACU I have proactively been working with industry to develop programs that give students both soft and hard skills when they enter the marketplace. Plus it has been great working with Brisbane-based organisations such as Junction Estate Agents, their energy is a breath of fresh air”

The current cohort of Marketing Toolkit is now working with ASX-listed company Motorcycle Holding PTY for the latest rendition of the course, with a focus on their Team Moto brand across Australia.
